SillySoft the developers of turn based strategy games Lux Delux, Ancient Empires Lux and American History Lux which all have a native GNU/Linux clients, are now working on a new game called Castle Vox which is scheduled for launch in September 2010.

Castle Vox is a simultaneous-turns strategy game. Out-strategize your opponents on a variety of war maps. Board game fans will particularly enjoy Castle Vox, which mixes elements from both Diplomacy and Axis & Allies.
Castle Vox includes maps spanning many eras and mythologies, such as the American Revolution, Hades, Japan, Napoleonic Wars, Native America, Outer Space, and the Roman Empire. The map editor lets players create their own boards.
Multi-player modes allow both relaxed one-move-a-day games as well as fast speed wars.

    I have been meaning to try Lux at some point, though I am not a big turn-based strategy fan, but with it being Risk based I do not think it would be that hard to play. What interested me about these games is not so much the games themselves but the maps made by the community and the fact it is one of the few historical themed Linux games, except for the Civilization and Colonization clones. Some of the custom maps made for Lux look quite creative. Could be something to play until 0 A.D is finished.
