Comment on Legends Of Eisenwald Will Have A GNU/Linux Client – Help Make It Faster ! by maxztt

I already pledged before coming here and seeing your article.

I'd like to add, that I communicated with one of the "Legends of Eisenwald" developers and asked whether I could get my box with the GNU/Linux version of the game and he said, that it is entirely possible. (even if I would obviously have to wait about 3 months longer for my box, due to the porting, when the 100k ain't reached)

Also please check out http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/crateentertainment/grim-dawn
and write the developers, that you are interested in a GNU/Linux version, if you are interested in one.
They most likely won't reach the 650k or 800k, that they want for a GNU/Linux port (the GNU/Linux port is cheaper than the Mac OS port btw., ask for 200k more for a Mac OS version), but if enough people voice their interest in the GNU/Linux version, they might just port it anyways.

One of the developers said, that they may take it on after release, if they don't get the required funding. They don't want to take out content in favor of a GNU/Linux version though.

Also write these people http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1869102574/conquest-2-vyrium-uprising-rts-fans-unite that you want a native GNU/Linux version. After writing with them, they seem inclined to port it, if people show enough interest.

And finally, http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/69341191/xenonauts will have a GNU/Linux version.
Apparently many people showed interest via messages. I hope I also made some difference, first asking for a GNU/Linux version, then pledging in the $200 tier and then asking about specifics of the $200 tier while asking about GNU/Linux again.

Well...you can say it's more like a pre-order as they will raise the 1Million in 16 days.
And yeah Nekro is very cool and I pledged to it too,

I've pledged to 4 projects this month....

I've been trying to warn people not to pre-order video games for years now. The developers ALWAYS LIE TO US! ALWAYS!

But somehow you guys keep ponying money every time some game dev pulls out his pockets. It's pathetic and stupid and unless you stop doing it the gaming industry will never take us seriously.

Actually they did say that they would make a GNU/Linux client, and many GNU/Linux gamers pledged because of this reason (as did I).
And now that they backed down from their words, it's seems like a big disappointment.

This is simply wrong. Why even mention it (I'm assuming they didn't _promise_ it)? Well, the cynical response would be "attracting more support". And it probably isn't wrong, either. Very disheartening.
