GamersGate runs a new IndieFort Bundle which includes many GNU/Linux games.
You can either get 3 games for $4, or 6 games for $7 or 9 games for $9 ,which is very cheap !

Although that even when you click on the GNU/Linux games, it doesn’t mention  “GNU/Linux” as one of the supported OS’s,  Daniel Hjelmtorp from Gamer’sGate said they will supply a GNU/Linux clients for all games that offer it (which are currently 12+).

Update

Currently you can already download Telepath RPG: Servants of God (Adobe Air), 3079 (Java),  Survivors of Ragnarök (Java), Will Fight for Food (native).

Devil Whiskey will be coming very soon.

LGN :

Hello !

I want to buy an indie game bundle from here .
And I know for sure that some of the games in the bundle do have a native Linux clients elsewhere (be it via their websites or Desura or other).
Can you also provide Linux versions of those games at GamersGate ?
Because a am a Linux gamer (and so are my readers) and have no interest in the Windows versions of the games.
I am talking about games like : 3079, Tiny and Big: Grandpa’s Leftovers, Telepath RPG: Servants of God, Survivors of Ragnarök, Hacker Evolution Duality and more…
All those games have a native Linux client, is there a possibility to get it via your bundle ?
I’m sure my readers at LinuxGamingNews.org would love to know about it.

Thanks

Daniel Hjelmtorp :

Hello Maxim

For those games that have Linux versions we offering them for customers who purchase the bundle.
If we are missing linux versions we will add them if the developer have such a version.
Thanks

Daniel Hjelmtorp | Executive VP | GamersGate.com

The games that have a GNU/Linux client are ( Please note that some of those games are still in Alpha/beta stages…) :

Tiny and Big: Grandpa’s Leftovers , 3079, Project Black Sun, Telepath RPG: Servants of God, Devil Whiskey, Survivors of Ragnarök, Black Market (browser), Blue Libra, Cardinal Quest, Hacker Evolution Duality, Shepherd Slaughter, Three Dead Zed, Will Fight for Food and maybe AirBuccaneers HD (after Unity4 will be released).

So you got plenty of games to choose from and 19 days left to do it, so what are you waiting for ?! get the now !

Nice post Maxim. And kudos for getting a quite reply.
There are some great games to choose from the bundle.

  2. bender480 says:

since few days, there is no update, any news about other linux games to be add to the bundle?

  3. Maxim Bardin says:

I’ve sent emails to all Linux game developers from this Bundle – some already uploaded their games, some will do it soon and I’m still waiting for answers from others.
I’ve updated the main page with the current GNU/Linux games you can get from this bundle. (in red)

  4. Seamoss says:

Since there’s less than a week left on this bundle, does anyone know if any more Linux versions of the games have been uploaded?

  5. Hyeron says:

@Seamoss – in one word? None, from what my shelf says. Not even Devil Whiskey.

  6. Maxim Bardin says:

    It’s not correct…
The games I know for sure (because I bought them) that have a Linux or other (java, air) client and work natively on Linux are :
Telepath RPG: Servants of God (Adobe Air), 3079 (Java), Survivors of Ragnarök (Java), Will Fight for Food (native), Blue Libra (developers said they uploaded).
I’ve also contacted the developer of Devil Whiskey, he said he will upload it and he also gave me a direct link for the Linux download, so you can also contact him directly and ask for a Link (with username/pass) : richard_whitwell@msn.com .

  7. Hyeron says:

It is correct, he asked if there was more. I bought the bundle after your update, so no, there aren’t more. Just the same. Thanks for the tip about Devil Whiskey, Maxim. 🙂

  8. Maxim Bardin says:

There might be other Linux games there, but I didn’t buy them from this store so I don’t know if they have the Linux clients there.

  9. Seamoss says:

In case anyone’s still following this, I contacted the Devil Whiskey developer and he responded:

“GG should be able to access the Linux files for DW by tomorrow – I would guess it’ll take them a day or two after that to get them in place.”

I also PMed the 3DeadZed developer on Desura and he provided me with a Desura key for the game.

Finally, you can activate the full Telepath game from the Desura Linux demo with the same “key” that you get from GG – the developer is OK with this.

No response from the Tiny & Big developers.

I wish GG would just include the native Linux versions – it’s not worth it jumping through all these hoops, but at least it raises awareness about Linux gamers with the developers.

  10. Yeah says:

Blue Libra has a Linux version already. I just bought it.
But Dark Scavenger, Devil Whiskey and Tiny and Big: Grandpa’s Leftovers still don’t.

  11. Seamoss says:

Devil Whiskey now has a “Linux files” link in its “Patches” section.

Dark Scavenger is not currently available for Linux – from the developer’s blog: “A Linux version of the game seems Possible.”

I doubt that Tiny & Big for Linux will be available on GG.

  12. Jayson says:

Black Pants Studio (makers of Tiny & Big: Grandpa’a Leftovers) finally responded to me and say basically tough luck if you have linux buy the game again directly from them and not GG. So if you are like me you get a lesson don’t buy this developer’s game again or the next one.
